If you have an extra pair of glasses that you need a safe place to store them, kids have grimy little fingers. Or if you're on the go and need a safe place to stash your glasses in your bag this is a wonderful way to store them. It doesn't take up a lot of room and is rigid so you don't need to worry about your glasses getting crushed. I keep my extra pair of Oakley GasCans with Fuse CordGrip attached without issue!
