There are five types of wire frames from Oakley that commonly get mis-ordered from us at Fuse Lenses. We know that ordering lenses can be hard - model information gets rubbed off, you think you know what frame you have, and plus - all of these frames look so similar! But, each frame has a different lens fit and if you accidentally order the wrong replacement lenses, you’re not going to have a good time. Not to worry - here at Fuse, we’ve found that the easiest way to tell them apart is the temples! If you look close enough at the temples and arms, you’ll start to be able to notice the differences.
A Wire
Model Number: 05-578, 05-575, 05-576, 05-577, 05-567

Compared to the A Wire 2.0, the A Wire has longer earsocks. The top of the frame of A Wire is slightly curved downward instead of upward like the A Wire 2.0. This is because the lenses are a slightly different shape.
A Wire Thick
Model Number: 05-565, 05-568, 05-566

An A Wire Thick is similar to an A Wire, but the metal around the lenses is flatter and thicker than the A Wire.
A Wire 2.0
Model Number: 05-706, 05-700, 05-703, 11-089, 11-082, 05-701, 05-702, 05-704

The earsock of A Wire 2.0 is much shorter than that of the A Wire. The earsock is also fatter, unlike the earsock of the A Wire, which is much thinner.
A Wire 2.0 Thick
Model Number: 12-594, 05-729, 05-728, 05-726, 05-727, 05-730

Like the A Wire and the A Wire Thick, the A Wire 2.0 and the A Wire 2.0 Thick are also very similar. The difference again is the thickness of the frames around the lenses.
A Wire 2.0 Spring Hinge
Model Number: 05-707, 05-682, 05-705, 12-814, 05-740, 5-741

The A Wire 2.0 Spring Hinge is similar to the A Wire 2.0. The earsock has a similar shape to the one on the A Wire 2.0, only it’s bigger in size. Also, as the name suggests. It has a spring in the hinge. If you close and open the temples you should be able to see this.
